Hunting at TRO

Tucker Ridge Outdoors is a different kind of outfitter. Our goal is to provide the kind of hunting trips and experiences that are usually out of reach for the working hunter.

We believe in the tradition of hunting and the proud heritage that goes with it. Here at Tucker Ridge, you will not only find prime habitat for the game you seek, you will be immersed in it. We place values, ethics, integrity and safety above all, so you’ll never have to worry about who you may find yourself in camp with.

On Tucker Ridge, you’ll find yourself enjoying your hunt as generations before you did – in a traditional hunting camp telling tall tales of previous hunts, and making new lifelong friends.

Big woods, back country hunts are one of the most thrilling and sought after trips in the sporting world.  The  remoteness of our region  provides breathtaking views, abundant wildlife in their natural settings and thousands of square miles of unspoiled nature.

Sportsman seeking the peace and solitude of the hunting woods of yore can rediscover it here in the Maine wilderness.

With a focus on tradition, ethics and sportsmanship, we aim  to provide the highest quality hunt at an affordable price.

On Tucker Ridge, tradition lives on.

Types of hunts and what they include

Guided Hunt

Guided hunts are designed for the client who wishes to arrive in camp and start hunting with all preparations taken care of beforehand. These type of hunts include preseason scouting and trail camera monitoring, bait station set up and maintenance where applicable, tree stand or ground blind set up prior to arrival, field care of game, and local transportation to the tagging station, processor and taxidermist if applicable. This type of hunt is most popular for bear and predator hunters. Deer hunters with limited physical ability may also find this hunt useful.

Semi-guided Hunt

Semi-guided hunts are designed for the hunter who wishes to do their own scouting and find their own sign. We’ll give you a briefing on our operational area and known locations of game and travel routes. We’ll show you where terrain features, water and food sources are on topographical maps and you’ll choose where you wish to hunt. We can provide you a stand or blind, or you can bring your own. This is a popular option for experienced deer hunters.

Dedicated Guide

These hunts are for those who want a Registered Maine Guide by their side. Nonresidents hunting Maine for the first time may find this a desirable option when exploring the big north woods and vast network of logging roads our region is noted for. Your guide will assist in locating, tracking and caring for game in the field after the shot. Clients wishing to get off the beaten path without fear of getting turned around in the remote wilderness often opt for this service. Deer hunters who want to try tracking big bucks in the snow and ruffed grouse hunters wishing to get deep in prime habitat will benefit with this option.

Custom Hunts & Packages

Depending on the season and game you are seeking, you may wish to hunt multiple species with varying methods. With multiple overlapping seasons, we can arrange a custom hunt package tailored just for you. Want to hunt deer, ruffed grouse and coyotes? We can do that. Wish to do some bass fishing in the morning and hunt black bear in the afternoon? We can do that too. Your opportunity to diversify your time at Tucker Ridge is limited only by your imagination…and seasons. We arrange these trips with input from you. Use our contact page for questions or ideas.

Lodging & Meals

All hunts include lodging & meals standard unless stated otherwise. Meals are served ‘family style’ in the clubhouse.
